Strengthening Your Building Level Suicide Plan (MASP is a co-sponsor of this workshop)

MASP is pleased to announce that we were asked to partner with the MO Association of Secondary School Principals and the MO School Counselor Association to provide training to assist schools in developing or strengthening their action plans in the event of a suicide, using evidence based practices.

  • Cost: $499 per Team (3-5 members)
  • Registration will be limited to the first 25 teams.
  • Members could include but not limited to: Superintendent, Principal, Asst. Principal, Counselor, Outreach personnel, School Nurse, School Resource Officer, School Social Worker, School Psychologist, etc.


Agenda for the Day (Tentative):

9:00 am - 10:00 am Myths and facts about suicide

10:00 am - 11:30 am Best practices in suicide prevention and response

11:30 am - 12:15 pm Local resource discovery: Working lunch

12:30 pm - 2:00 pm Strengthening your building-level suicide plan

2:00 pm - 3:00 pm Developing a network of support with other districts


Each team will leave with a thumb drive of resources, a network of contacts for additional support, and a draft of your building-level action plan.

Ongoing support (phone calls, video conferencing, face to face consultation, etc.) will take place following the workshop.

-A shareable resource library of tools you can adapt and use in your school

-Awareness of best practices in suicide prevention and response

-Customized information and strategies to help you connect with your local agencies
