    The Miriam Learning Center offers special education, community-based services designed for struggling students who are age 2 through 25 and who attend private, parochial, charter, or public schools. Services include testing, therapies, counseling, tutoring, SPED subbing, behavior support, Young Adult Services (YAS), and summer therapy camp. Over 1000 children are served annually.

    POSITION: School Psychologist Supervisor 

    REPORTS TO: MLC DIRECTOR

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Master's Degree in related field
    • Current Missouri certification as a school psychologist or psychological examiner
    • 3 years of experience providing IDEA eligibility testing within a school district including cognitive, academic, and social/emotional/behavioral/adaptive behavior testing.
    • Prefer 1 year of supervisory experience
    • Expert knowledge of DESE compliance regulations for eligibility testing
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Excellent organizational skills with good attention to detail and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment
    • Familiarity with basic computer programs including Outlook, Word, Excel, Sharepoint and Google Drive.

    POSITION SUMMARY:
    The School Psychologist Supervisor runs the daily operations for all testing (OT, SLP, PT psychological and psychoeducational) and academic supports (tutoring, SPED subbing). This person also provides direct testing services, depending upon the work flow of the department.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    1. Interviews, hires, and trains new staff.
    2. Ensures staff are up-to-date on new treatment techniques and new policies.
    3. Helps new staff assimilate into his/her assignment(s).
    4. Assigns staff to new assignments.
    5. Oversees testing to ensure that reports and testing are DESE compliant.
    6. Provides intake assistance with new referrals.
    7. Responds to new referrals within 24 working hours.
    8. Provides psycho-educational testing on a reduced basis depending upon work flow.
    9. Ensures formats for testing are DESE compliant.
    10. Performs performance appraisals on direct reports.
    11. Assists with summer camp in June and July. May provide direct services during summer camp when referrals are lower.
    12. Ensures tests and tutoring materials are current.
    13. Intervenes with routine issues within the department.
    14. Addresses staff strengths and weaknesses to help staff professionally grow.
    15. Conducts site visits with partner schools.
    16. Prices IEEs for school districts.
    17. Provides expert consult to partner schools within a timely and professional manner.
    18. Other job duties as specified by supervisor.

    School Psychologist/School Psychological Examiners
    $46 per hour and/or $690 per each psycho/educational case; PRN

    Miriam Learning Center is hiring Missouri certified School Psychologist and/or School Psychological Examiners PRN, for the 2021-2022 school year. Positions are part-time only with a maximum of 29 hours allowed per week. Cases include testing private clients using DSM-V diagnois(es) or testing in the public or charter schools using Missouri DESE guidelines. Partner schools are located in the City of St. Louis (charter schools), St. Louis County, and surrounding areas. Must be available a minimum of 2 days per week. 2 years of testing experience is preferred.
