The Columbia Public Schools in Columbia, Missouri, anticipates full-time openings for school psychologists for the 2024-2025 school year. Columbia is a city of approximately 123,000 people, situated between Kansas City and St. Louis. It is host to the University of Missouri-Columbia, Columbia College, and Stephens College and provides a diverse educational setting and a number of community resources.
Our team of school psychologists strives to provide a comprehensive range of services as described in the current standards from the National Association of School Psychologists. Our school psychologists participate in effective data-based decision-making using a foundation of assessment and data collection. School psychologists are responsible for conducting multidisciplinary evaluations for special education eligibility. School psychologists also conduct functional behavior assessments and assist school personnel in the development and implementation of behavior intervention plans. Our team members apply their knowledge of both psychology and education through consultation and collaboration with teachers, school administrators, parents, and community providers. Interns can engage in specific services for students, such as direct and indirect interventions that focus on academic skills, learning, socialization, and mental health. Our school psychologists work collaboratively with others to promote effective and safe learning environments, prevent and remediate academic and behavior problems, and improve family-school collaboration.
Applicants must be certified as a K-12 school psychologist in Missouri. Psychological examiners considered. In addition to a competitive salary and excellent benefits, successful candidates who hold the NCSP are eligible for an annual stipend.
